UK Corporate Governance Code Consultation

The Government’s “Restoring trust in audit and corporate governance paper introduced critical reforms that have the potential to recalibrate the corporate ecosystem: bringing a focus onto good governance and strong corporate reporting as the foundations of a well-run company. The proposals are designed to enhance the UK’s reputation for world class corporate governance, and are another step towards securing the long-term attractiveness of the UK capital markets. The Code changes provide a new framework, but guidance will be critical for company boards. Being able to reflect on the code changes through the dual lens of public accounting and management accounting allows AICPA & CIMA to bring a different perspective to this important debate.
